Is There A Benefit To Replacing my Existing uPVC Windows & Doors?Yes, there are three benefits to replacing your existing uPVC windows and doors that were fitted pre-2001
Soaring energy prices have stimulated the market for energy rated windows. By replacing your existing uPVC windows with B rated windows will make the same amount of difference as going from single to double glazed. First time around – many customers were sold designs with few openers – basically large fixed panes with top openers. These window designs will now be looking dated. There are now far more design choices. For instance, there is currently a desire for neutral coloured woodgrains which look like painted wood along with a demand for more realistic woodgrains. 90% of windows that were fitted prior to 2001 were externally glazed. The trend has been reversed because 90% of windows now fitted are internally glazed. This means that the beading is on the inside and it makes it far more difficult for a burglar to easily gain access to your property. Many windows will also have been fitted with Cockspur handles which were fine in their day but these have since been superseded by an Espagnolette Locking System and, more recently, a Shoot Bolt Locking System has been incorporated into the Espagnolette Locking System which makes for a far more secure installation. |
